It's been quite the flurry of activity this month. I want to thank our wonderful dealers for helping to make it all happen for the weekend. I worked you pretty hard and you still volunteered to help with the sale. You guys really Rock!! Construction is done, the mess cleared away, walls got a coat of paint (thanks Debbie!), the the floor was touched up. We are so fortunate to have such a great team with us at Paddywac's. Check out the new floor space. We love it!

Construction is finished, the walls are painted, floor is washed - AND now no more "closet" in the front of the store. After today the space will be redesigned with all the fabulous new items that have come into the shop. I'll get more pictures when it's all done.

Construction Update at Paddywac's

We're a week into the wall removal and I thought I share a few pictures and give an update. Of course, it's not complete. Monday work will resume with the final sanding. We probably won't get it painted in time but we will clean up the mess.

Status Report from Paddywac's - Yes, status report. Wow what a wonderful Market it's been so far. We have seen tons of new people, and lots of our regulars have come into the Shop to check out the new look. Thank you everyone for coming in so far.

I also want to let you know what's on the calendar for Monday morning at Padywac's. We will be doing MORE remodeling. I know I've shown the picture below but, we're so excited we want to share the news that the front area of the store is getting a facelift. The "closet" walls will be removed, so no more nooks and angles to work around. The space will be completely opened up. Much easier to work with and more space to put all those fabulous finds. I'll take pictures as things progress.

February Market is coming soon and we have the shop ready. The painting is done, primping complete, redesign in order and the Shop seems to have taken on a very new and exciting look. We have all the great items you'd expect, and tons of new furniture and unique, one-of-a-kind home accents. But, we must admit, a fresh coat of paint on a few walls and the transformation is complete. You really must visit us at the shop and tell us what you think! Hard to believe February is already here! It's a new Year and time to change and update. Yes, we've been doing some changing at the shop and I modestly admit, I love it! We've painted a few walls and added some embellishments! We invite you to come and see, there's lots of new items. See what you can find at Paddywac's to make a few changes in your own home!

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. A time to relax with family and friends, enjoy conversation, no stress, visit memory lane with loved ones, or take a little nap after a wonderful meal. I hope your day of giving thanks brings you much joy and renewed strength.

Paddywac's is open on Friday and Saturday 10-5. So get in that mall visit or stand in line for that special gift and we will be ready for your visit. Nic Nac Paddywac's - We are Open Thursday and Friday

We are rejecting the idea that the weekend after Thanksgiving has to be a frenzied, get up at 2:00 in the morning and rush to a huge shopping mall - where no one knows you- type shopping trip! We don't open at 4 in the morning (actually, I'm sleeping then). But we do open at 10:00 a.m.

We've restocked with furniture, tons of gift items, wall decor, linens, Polar Mitts, scarves, hats, jewelry, and lots more. All Anoka shops are open and ready -

Please shop locally and support your area merchants. They're here for you!

Saturday Evening with Friends

Yesterday was such a beautiful day and I wanted to share a part of it with everyone. Tricia and I both took time from our busy schedule to be away from the store. I went to Red Wing to spend the evening with friends from design school, which was a few years ago now. But nonetheless, we keep in touch and spend an evening together when we can.

We met up at Shannan's store in Red Wing, Moments on Main. Friday evening was the big Holiday open house but she extended an invitation to us as well. Her shop is filled with the Christmas spirit. Everywhere you looked there are wonderful gift items, jewelery, candles, napkins, home decorating ideas, spa items and so much more. I managed to come home with a few treasures, and a Christmas gift.

I want to share the fun we had at our October Market. It was a whirlwind of activity - Fabulous Style Show - bake sale and everyone seemed to be having such a wonderful time. A special Thank You to everyone who visited Paddywac's and particularly those that volunteered their time to make it such a successful weekend.

Paddywac's will be open August 26 and 27, Friday and Saturday and to get ready, we just spent two days sanding, painting, distressing, shabbying, gel-staining and putting on a few pieces of hardware! We worked outside and the weather couldn't have been any better (except for that spot of rain we had when we had to bring everything back inside for, oh, about 1 minute). Turning wonderful pieces "back" into treasures. It was fun, but, oh such hard work. Here are a few "before" and "after" pictures and a few other teasers you might enjoy!

It's a beautiful Sunday morning in Anoka. It's quiet and I can hear the birds singing. It brought to mind one of our many favorite customers, Susie. A few months ago Susie shared some photos of a fabulous outbuilding on their property that her and her husband have turned into a "Cottage Retreat." Hard to believe but at one time it was a turkey shed. Hope you enjoy. Susie has promised to send me photos of the inside which I will joyfully share with you. Beautiful Susie. Hello and Welcome to Nic Nac Paddywac's

It's hard to believe that it has been a whole year since we opened our doors here in Anoka. We must say that we have exceeded most of our goals, and have had such fun along the way! It has been a year of learning, worrying, wondering, sanding, painting, shopping (my favorite part), arranging and rearranging. And, of course, getting to know the fabulous customers and friends we've made this past year.

One of the things we enjoy most is when our customers share their decorating ideas with us. When a customer walks in and is so excited about a particular piece, we all get a feeling of great accomplishment. We especially love it when a customer returns with a picture showing us how the item fits into their home or garden.

We have a signature mix of unique items, most ready for the customer to enjoy in their homes, some pieces are "projects" for the customer who wants to customize their own piece, and we also have some new new items. We are known for our variety and great prices. We are ready to help you find that special item, whether it be a gift, glassware, linens, lamps, pictures, a special piece of furniture, or jewelry.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for helping to make our first year in Anoka a smashing success. We look forward to the years to come and we hope you will join us to share all the new and exciting changes. We appreciate everyone of you!

Thursday morning, June 10 - Let the June Sale Event Begin!

Happy Thursday morning! Tricia and I were up at the store last evening putting the final touches everywhere. I'm a bit biased but I really don't think the store has looked better. We redesigned the flow which has made a lot more room for those wonderful treasures.

We have a new display of Sweet Romance Earrings. Sorry no pictures yet, but these earrings are just too adorable. Dangles, stones and BLING. They are a must have.

We also have a new dealer C.A.T., or Correen. Correen crafts adorable purses from recycled jeans or whatever and adds belts, adornments, handles and pretties them up. Each one is a work of art and very affordable. Her purse is above. Welcome to Paddywac's Correen.

Our doors are almost ready to open. Thursday morning at 10:00 we'll be ready. I want to welcome our three new dealers - Sandra, Linda P and Steve.

Sandra brings a wonderful, fun selection of painted pieces, some shabby chic, some garden.
Linda P is a very talented jewelry designer, taking old pieces and remaking - very chic.
Steve is a skilled furniture craftsman, able to take an old piece or to and make a treasure out of it.

It's been a busy week at Paddywac's and very exciting. Last Sunday we were part of a filming for a short teaching film that will be aired on Cable sometime after the end of March. The film crew first set up their filming at Avant Garden (our coffee shop) just down the street where they also filmed. It's a short film about two people who meet online and then in person at a coffee shop, followed by scenes of them shopping. It should be interesting to see. We're very proud to have both spots in the move.

Well, back to reality. The shop is ready - all spruced up with terrific new finds. We open tomorrow at 10:00 and hope to see you all.
